Accidental Micromanagement – Are you guilty?

Do you delegate work?  We have all been told that delegation is the way to get people engaged. If we delegate then people will have more buy in and be not only willing but excited to do the work.  Right? Isn’t that what you have heard.

If you have tried it but haven’t found it working, maybe there is something more to it, a secret to delegation.  Well,there is. The fact is you SHOULD NOT DELEGATE WORK!

What? Yes, you heard me right. Don’t delegate work. If you have been delegating work you are getting it wrong and most likely really frustrating your people. So, don’t delegate work, delegate DECISIONS!  Sounds like a minor difference but it is the difference between micromanaging and empowering.
